Roots & Shoots Rwanda is a registered Non-Profit Organization dedicated to fostering positive change for communities, animals, and the environment. We bring together youth from preschool to university level to actively engage in conservation and promote long-term sustainability.
Founded on 28 February 2021, Through programs in schools across Rwanda, including communities near Gishwati-Mukura National Park we empower young Rwandans to become the changemakers our planet needs.

Roots & Shoots Rwanda proudly participated in the World Environment Day celebration organized by the Rwanda Environment Management Authority, reaffirming its commitment to youth-led climate and environmental action.
At EP Mulinja, young students worked with Roots & Shoots Rwanda to build a kitchen garden that will support learning, teamwork, and environmental care.
The INES-Ruhengeri Environmental Club, in collaboration with Roots & Shoots Rwanda, showed that environmental action begins with us.
Roots & Shoots Rwanda and Tanzania celebrated 35 years of the movement through a volunteer exchange focused on animal welfare education, with visits to schools in Dodoma and collaborative activities.
We successfully completed a powerful training for 20 Roots & Shoots volunteers and 20 club facilitators supporting Evergreen Phase II our nature-based mental health program. The program has now expanded from 3 to 10 schools, reaching over 500 R&S members.
