In our steadfast dedication to environmental stewardship, Root and Shoot Rwanda (R&S Rwanda), in collaboration with ISARO E-context and with the support from Rubis Energy Rwanda, has embarked on an inspiring journey. Through our School Outreach Program, the aim was to engage the young generation in Environmental conservation actively. This is to cultivate a deep sense of environmental consciousness, advocate for tree planting utilizing Eco Forest technology, and enlighten both students and educators on the indispensable role of technology in safeguarding our precious planet.

Visiting five schools across three provinces in Rwanda, we were met with enthusiasm and eagerness from both students and educators. From GS Remera Rukoma in the south province to the United Nursery & Primary School, Saint Alloys in Musanze, North Province, and Mulinja Primary School and Gr. Sc Kabuga in Kicukiro and Gasabo, Kigali City, our journey was one of discovery and enlightenment.

During this activity, we engaged students in practical lessons on tree planting and nurturing, emphasizing the importance of trees in mitigating climate change and preserving biodiversity. Moreover, we introduced them to the innovative Eco Forest technology, showcasing how it can revolutionize how we monitor tree growth and health.

Through interactive sessions, we demonstrated how students can use the Eco Forest app to remotely monitor the progress of their trees, empowering them with the tools to become active participants in environmental conservation. Additionally, we provided teachers with guidance on integrating this technology, enabling students to access real-time information about their trees with the help of their teachers and have the opportunity to showcase their environmental efforts through using the Eco Forest App.

The impact on schools involved was huge with a total of 575 trees (including 260

fruit trees, 155 coral trees, and 160 forest trees) planted across the Six schools. This contributes to the greening of school environments and serves as a symbol of the collective effort towards a more sustainable future.

Above all, our interactions with students reaffirmed our belief in the power of youth as agents of change. Their enthusiasm and dedication to protecting the environment serve as a beacon of hope in the face of our planet’s greatest challenges.

As we look to the future, let us continue to nurture and empower the next generation to become guardians of the Earth, armed with knowledge, passion, and the tools to create a better world for all.

Join us in our mission to cultivate a generation of environmental champions and pave the way for a greener, more sustainable future.
